Cameron Mackintosh

Cameron Makintosh was born October 17, 1946 in Enfield. He is the son of a Scottish father and French-Maltese mother. He has one younger brother Robert Makintosh.
After early productions such as Side by Side by Sondheim and Tom Foolery, he hit the big time in 1981 as the producer of Cats, which holds the record for longest-running musical both on the West End in London, and on Broadway.
He has produced several other successful musicals, including Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and The Phantom of the Opera. In 1995 he produced the 10th anniversary concert of Les Misérables in London. Additionally, he produced the American National Tour of Les Misérables. Throughout the 1990's he was responsible for the London productions of Martin Guerre, National Theatre revivals of Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady and Carousel, and Disney's Mary Poppins.
He owns seven London theatres including the Prince Edward Theatre, Prince of Wales Theatre, Strand Theatre (now renamed the Novello), Queen's Theatre, Gielgud Theatre, Wyndham's Theatre and the Albery Theatre (soon to be renamed Noel Coward).
